Autonomous haulage for the dump trucks you already operate.

Sensible 4 retrofits articulated dump trucks to perform repetitive load-haul-dump cycles on construction sites, quarries and light mines. Start with one vehicle and a defined route, supervise operations remotely, and scale across your fleet – without replacing equipment or turning every deployment into a bespoke engineering project.

DAWN™ autonomous haulage platform

From vehicle retrofit to autonomous haulage.

DAWN combines a vehicle-mounted sensor and compute kit, vehicle-control interface, autonomy software, site configuration and remote operating tools. It enables an articulated dump truck to perceive its surroundings, localise itself, follow a defined haul route, respond to obstacles and enter a safe state when required.

The platform is designed around reusable vehicle adapters and site configuration – not a new software project for every deployment. Start with one ADT and one haul cycle, then expand to additional vehicles and sites as safety, performance and ROI are validated.

Put a defined haul cycle into operation

Configure the loading point, haul route, dumping point and operating boundaries. The vehicle completes the repetitive transport cycle autonomously while your team monitors its status and manages situations requiring human supervision.

Safety-led autonomy

Safety starts with knowing when to stop.

Autonomous haulage should operate only within clearly defined conditions. For every vehicle and site, we define the approved routes, operating area, speed limits, traffic interactions, environmental limits and required safe responses.

DAWN monitors obstacles, positioning, vehicle status and system health throughout operation. If critical conditions are no longer met, an independent safety layer can command neutral or braking and bring the vehicle to a safe stop.

Before productive operation, we validate the installation, sensor calibration, vehicle-control response, route behaviour, obstacle response, safe-stop and emergency-stop functions. Our safety engineering uses ISO 17757 as its reference standard, with external validation included in the product roadmap.

Built around your site – not a generic safety claim

Deployment begins with the actual haulage task. Together with your operations and safety teams, we assess traffic flows, interaction zones, communications coverage, environmental conditions, human responsibilities and recovery procedures. The vehicle progresses from controlled testing to supervised trials and productive operation only after the agreed acceptance criteria are met.

Why S4

Put autonomous haulage to work – without rebuilding your operation.

Sensible 4 is designed for operators who need a practical route to autonomy. Retrofit the articulated dump trucks you already own, automate a defined haul cycle and prove the operational value before expanding across the fleet.

  • Commissioned in days, not months

A standardised retrofit kit, reusable vehicle adapters and site-based configuration reduce deployment time and site-specific engineering.

  • Start with one productive haul cycle

Begin with one ADT and one defined load-haul-dump route. Validate safety, cycle performance and ROI in your real operation before adding more vehicles.

  • Keep the fleet you already own

Add autonomy to existing equipment instead of replacing serviceable trucks. Protect your fleet investment and avoid restructuring the site around a new vehicle ecosystem.

  • Built to scale across vehicle makes

The platform is designed around a common autonomy stack and vehicle-specific adapters. Expand across mixed fleets and additional sites without committing your autonomy strategy to a single OEM.

Extreme environment capability

Built for the places where heavy work happens.

Construction sites, quarries and mines are dusty, dark, cold and constantly changing. DAWN combines rugged onboard hardware, 360-degree perception and multi-source positioning to keep autonomous haulage running through real operating conditions – not only in perfect weather.

Developed in Finland. Designed for harsh sites worldwide.

  • Cold, snow and ice

Built on years of autonomy development and testing in sub-zero Nordic conditions.

  • Dust, rain and fog

Multi-camera perception and thermal sensing help maintain awareness when visibility deteriorates.

  • Day, night and changing light

HDR cameras support operation through darkness, glare, deep shadows and sudden lighting changes.

  • Beyond GNSS

Visual, inertial and satellite positioning work together to maintain localisation in pits, beneath structures and where GNSS is weak or obstructed.

When conditions fall outside the approved operating limits, DAWN responds safely – including bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop.

About Sensible4

Built in Finland to make industrial autonomy practical.

Sensible 4 (S4) is an autonomy and Physical AI company turning existing heavy vehicles into autonomous machines. Our technology was born from years of developing autonomous vehicles for demanding Nordic conditions. Today, we are productising that expertise into a system industrial operators can deploy faster and scale across vehicles and sites.

The team behind Sensible 4

Our team brings together experience in autonomous driving, robotics, AI, vehicle engineering, industrial operations and building global technology companies. We have developed autonomy from the ground up, integrated it into real vehicles and deployed it outside the laboratory.
